Axios Series is designed to be displayed as a group in a large space. Each painting is 36" x 36." The metallic and textured surfaces will change dramatically as the ambient light changes and the decorated edges will add a sculptural effect. I envision the light source to be an abstract video which is a work in progress, creating an immersive experience.

The images emerged from my meditations. They are designed to be calming but also to entertain the eye. The triangles and zig zags are like entopic visual effects, which emerge in the early stages of meditation. The glimmering effects of the Akros Series are attempts to convey visual experiences in higher, peaceful states.
I've never seen all of these paintings together and I wonder: Should they be displayed in groups organized by pattern or colors, or displayed in a grid, as pictured ? I'm looking forward to seeing them all together and to collaborate with someone. It's fun to play with the thumbnail photos and to switch the paintings around in my space to see them under different light conditions.

The edge of each painting is decorated with designs from Classical Greek pottery which eliminates the need for frames. They are "antiqued" to compliment the surface of the painting without being obtrusive. The inspiration for this idea was ancient ceramic Puebloan ladles. The pattern on the handles of the ladles sometimes are different, but complement the pattern on the bowl - the combinations are endlessly interesting to me.
These Greek designs have been utilized for hundreds of years and provide a decorative familiarity, recognized universally.
